Vypin Island a Tourist Attraction in Kerala

The city of Ernakulam in Kerala is 5 km from Vypin Island, which is spread out over an area of 25 km2. It is one of the most densely populated islands in the world. It is connected to Kochi by a set of bridges called Goshree bridges that touch two other islands, Mulavukadu and Vallarpadam, and end at Marine Drive in Kochi. The island, which is also called Vypeen, is quickly becoming a city suburb. After a big flood in 1341, it was formed.

The beautiful Bungalow Heritage homestay is also in Vpeeny. It was built in 1930 and has buildings from Kerala, the Netherlands, and Portugal. You can also find the Portuguese Azhikotta fort (Pallipuram) here. It was built in 1503 and is one of the oldest European forts in India. There is a lighthouse at Ochanthuruthu in Vypeen. It is open every day from 3 p.m. to 5 a.m.
