Ushnam Ashniyat (consume freshly prepared or warm food)

Following this rule, if warm food is consumed, it will not only taste well, but also stimulates digestive fire, thereby digesting quickly. Warm food consumption can help to maintain peristaltic movements as well as stimulates secretion, thus boosting digestion. It is better to refrain from consuming extreme hot food, since it might cause burning sensation, dizziness, giddiness, excessive thirsty, etc.

Laghu Ashniyat (Consume less quantity to promote easy digestion)

Consume food in less quantity, making it easy to digest. Diet frequency is to be more and consumption should be at regular interval. Having a single meal with big lots of food is not good.

Snigdham Ashniyat (correct fat amount in diet)

Food that does not have oil or fats tends to absorb humidity present within the digestive tract, thereby hampering digestion. It leads to dryness of skin and constipation, etc.

Ishta Deshe, Ishta Sarvopakaranam (Consume with happiness & pleasure)

It refers to consumption at a hygienic place ensure all essential things available to provide sound psychological condition when having meals. Food should be taken in appropriate place having essential accessories, while not producing disturbing emotions such as stress, anxiety, fear, anger, etc.

Jirne Viryavirudham (habit of overeating food)

Food should be better taken only after digestion of previous meal. This clearly means, it is better to avoid eating if you are still feeling full.

Na Ativilambitam Ashniyat (Avoid consuming extremely slow)

Food should not be consumed very slowly as the person will not feel satisfied. Rather, such condition will involve the person consuming much more than what is necessary. Also, the food turns cold and the person will experience irregularity indigestion.

Na Atridrutam Ashniyat (Avoid consuming extremely fast)

It is better not to take food in a hurry, since it will only get into the wrong passage and not the stomach, where it actually should. In this case, it will not be possible to determine the exact taste and delicacy of the food item including the defective foreign bodies which mixes with them. Moreover, hurriedly eat food only violates the normal route.
